The Nightlife in Banff
Ski & Snowboard Instructor Course Resort Guide
A resort for all
As a world-wide tourist destination, Banff caters equally well for young people on their gap year as well as more mature people on a career break. It is large enough to keep everyone entertained, but small enough to make it easily navigable.
Night Riding Mt. Norquay
The social life of a student on a SnowSkool Banff ski instructor or snowboard instructor training programme is busy! As well as the skiing and snowboarding, which will keep you very busy during the day and, if you fancy it, the odd evening of night-skiing (or night-riding) up at Mt. Norquay, there is a vibrant social life at the Alpine Centre where SnowSkool students are accommodated.
The Alpine Centre
The Centre has its own pub: the Storm Cellar offering well-priced drinks, snacks and FREE pool, darts and table football. For the more adventurous, there is an ice-climbing wall and regular social activities such as quiz nights, DVD nights and bingo nights organised by your SnowSkool reps.
Banff has a huge array of pubs, bars and clubs to keep even the most sociable of you busy for the season. Whether you fancy catching up with Premiership football over a few beers in the Pump and Tap, playing a few games of pool at the Rose and Crown or cheap drinks with your friends after a hard days skiing in Mel’s, Banff has it all on offer. After hours Banff’s two nightclubs Hoodoo’s and Aurora’s are still alive with many a seasonaire enjoying a cheeky drink and a dance and with guest list here all season long you’re bound to pay them both a visit at least once or twice!
Attractions
As well as the facilities in and around the accommodation, there is plenty to do off the slopes in the busy town of Banff and the SnowSkool team will be constantly on hand to make sure that you make the most of your gap year or career break. Whether we are organising a DVD night, a trip to the ice hockey, a football or basketball tournament at the sports centre, an ice climbing session, a night on the tiles, Bingo Bowling (!) or a quiz night, Banff has the facilities to entertain even the most quirkiest of pastimes. And with more restaurants, bars, nightclubs, pubs and lounges than you can shake a stick at, you are not going to want for anything on your gap year! Work hard on the slopes and play hard off the slopes is the name of the game in Banff!
Many people ask about how much money they will require to sustain such a lively season-long experience in Banff. The answer is not much, really! The average weekly spend is £75 per person per week and this will cover all aspects of your social life as well as lunches and all food at the weekend.
WORD OF WARNING: You are joining an intensive ski or snowboard instructor training course and so will be skiing or riding through deep powder for long hours during the day. Rest is essential!
