Hi guys,

I'm Al, I'm hoping to go on the next Big White ski instructor course. I've been following your time at snowskool through the forums and the pictures posted by russman (thanks for that) and it looks like you guys had a great time. So what have you guys got planned next? Are any of you now looking for employment as ski or snowboard instructors??

And have you got any advice for us who are hoping to come on the course next year?

Cheers
AL...

Hey Al and benny boy, I had a pretty awesome time out there. I've sent my cv off to the kids centre at Big White Ski Resort and should hear back from them in June if I've been offered a job as a snowboard instructor there next year. I know quite a few of the others also applied for work there and a few people are hoping to find work as ski or snowboard instructors in New Zealand for this summer.

Advice... hmmm bring lots of money the bars (all of two of them) and shop are a complete rip off. But i loved that resort, even if i don't get offered an instructor job there I'm now gonna save up enough money that I can go there for the season without having to work, there's gonna be quite a few of our lot back out there next season and I can't wait to get back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I have to agree with Ali, the people that bought stuff out there got it for soooo much cheaper!!! One of the girls got the the same bindings as me (well not exactly the same but near enough) I paid £150 here and she paid i think $150 which is half the price!!!!!!!!!! man I was annoyed.

I reserved my skis through SnowSkool and they cost me $575 (£250) with bindings and setup (don't think that included tax though), I'm not sure how much they cost if you just buy them on the day, about $200 more IIRC. Don't know if there's a deal going on your trip but if there is then it's well worth taking.

In case you're wondering, they're Head Monster 72s and I absolutely f*&cking love them. They're a great option if, like me, you can only be bothered with one pair of skis, indestructible (I've defeated a number of inconveniently placed saplings with only minor damage to my equipment/legs) and handle great everywhere. You do have to put up with endless snowboarders laughing at you because you have the words 'monster head' printed on your skis, but it's worth it.

The 07/08 models have much, much better graphics on them too, which is always a bonus.

(PS - Emma, Dan, Russ, Frazer, I am also feeling the pain. It's boring down here. Milton Keynes soon?)
