Hi Everybody
My name is Charlotte. I'm going to be out in Big White in a couple months. I will be learning to be a snowboarding instructor, I haven't done all that much in the past but i'm counting the days until i can get involved.
I met a few of you at the social in Birmingham. Ended up in the Acadamy with Emma and Russ. Was great to say hi to everybody. |

Hey ya'all!
Looks like a huge response to Phils email, 'throwing the gauntlet down'..
Pleased to meet you all Geoff, Nish and Dom - am liking Geoff's updates, keep 'em coming. Am sensing a large increase in snowboarders so hope us skiing folk will have re-inforcements! Look forward to sharing a bevvie and some powder with you soon.
Katie and Charlotte, good to see you on here, I'm sure the clubs in venues in Big White will be far better than Reflex, if not at least we have a good crew so we'll make the night good.
Must say though Charlotte after that hard ass head banging in the Academy I was showing signs of whiplash the next day Just make sure you keep practising the patented Russman 'Hinged arm dance' for the first big night out in Big White -you gotta wow those Canadian guys with those funky disco moves
Last check it's 50 days and only 24 work days for me - have already packed the gear I bought at the Global Snow Show.... |

Hello hello!!
Was awesome to have met some of you in Birmingham, although I have to agree with Katie would have been even better if we'd steered clear of Reflex!!!
I cannot wait untill January... 7 weeks today! woop woop!
For the benefit of those that couldn't make it to Bham, everyone I met seemed pretty cool. I think we're gonna have an awesome time over in Big White.
I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of you, and seeing the guys from Bham again.
Roll on January!!
Emma
By the way I'm gonna be boarding... Russ I think it's pretty even steven's at the mo as to skiers vs boarders, although I'm sure Katie was swaying towards the dark side when I last spoke to her!! |

| Good to read all the postings - My name is Sass, and I'm supporting the ski numbers. I'm from Down Under too - but New Zealand not Australia. We've just finished a really good ski season - the mountain nearest us closed at the end of October. Now I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone at Vancouver. Roll on January! |

Hey Ems!
Glad to see you've signed up, once Duncan gets online that'll be all of the 'magnificent 7' from Birmingham
Hey Sass, great to meet another skier. Where abouts was your local mountain? I spent 2 weeks in Queenstown and skied at both Coronet Peak and Remarkables - great slopes, good weather and fantastic people! You'll be getting a back to back season then huh? Excellent!
Looking forward to meeting you in Canada, only 48 days left.. |

Hello Dudes (Boarders) and Bums (Skiers)
Allow myself to introduce... myself.
My name is James and I'll be skiing (and more than likely falling over) in Big White with you. I've just read Phil's stern letter of encouragement for us all to get to know one and other. So I'll throw my lot into the fray too.
Apologies for not showing up in Brum the other week - I'm afraid I have no excuses. It sounded like a good sesh (apart from your discotheque shenanigans afterwards - now that I don't regret missing).
Currently working out my notice in the insurance industry and although it's not a bad job, it's becoming increasingly difficult to sit at my desk and not tantalise about 3 months of fresh powder and good company. 5 weeks till I jack it in and my productivity has plummeted !!
Glad to see we have some Southern hemispherical skiing experience out there. I spent a season skiing at Cardrona a few years ago, unfortunately I was completely broke and didn't ski as much as I wanted - gutted. Lived with a Kiwi who was making snow board videos which was allot of fun and a real treat to be able to watch some of NZ's finest glide down the mountain side.
Question: is anyone bringing a laptop along? I have a 320Gb external hard drive with tons of tunes and movies. I thought we could have a pool of everyone’s music so those of us with mp3s can share our best beats to add a soundtrack to what I'm sure is going to be an awesome adventure.
