Great to hear you have lived in New Zealand for a while James. It is a super place, but a bit of a downer that you didn't get a lot ofskiing while you were down south. I hear there are some awesome fields round Queenstown but I havn't skiied there.... yet!
I live in the North Island near Cambridge, and have a business breeding and training competition horses for sale. It's good fun and hard work too.
Only started skiing this year so have still got lots and lots to learn. Can't wait to meet everyone at BW and hit some real powder.... will be bringing my laptop too.

Hey hey,
good to see that loads of people are getting in touch. going to be awesome to meet everybody.
i'm going bring my laptop as well i think, so there should be lots of oppotunites to share music, pictures ect.
I like the fact we have a bit of an international feel about the course. I will have to get some tips on where is good to go in the southern hemisphere.
Catch you all later . . . |

Hi everyone Tracey here, Duncan's better half. Sorry I missed you all in Birmingham was really gutted that I had to miss it, although can't complain about spending the weekend in Rome!
Can't wait to meet you all. Am well excited about going, counting down the days!!!
I apologise in advance if I'm bouncing off the walls when we all meet at the airport!!
Dunc says hello to everyone that he met, but he is crap on the computer and it would take him about an hour to type up one sentence! He did tell me everyone he met was really nice and it's going to be a top trip.
I'm also bringing my laptop, but we are still old fashioned and will bring our music on CD's, but obviously they can be used by everyone who is interested in our music taste.
See you soon, only 6 weeks on Friday, hurrah! |

So how’s that storm system developing Geoff? If the Big White Web Cam is anything to go by its doing it’s stuff – just had a look and I could just about make out a few snow laden roofs through the thick mass of a near white-out !!
Sass – sounds like you have a wicked job in NZ. It beats what I do hands down and to get to do it in a place as stunning as NZ – you’ve got it made!! Trevor – I’ve not been to Oz land but it’s pretty far up on my list – so you might get a knock on the door one day and a request to show me the place for the price of a bevy or few.
Guy’s fantastic response on the laptop front – I think we might just be able to make it work!! Tracey + Dunk – there’s naught wrong with good old fashion wind-up CDs. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of facilities on all the dozens of laptops to burn you guys anything you take a liking to (If the ministry against music piracy is listening in – I mean it all in jest).
Speaking for the skiing contingent – Katie – don’t listen to Frazer he’s trying to poison your mind. Snowboarding is all well and good, but two has always been better than one. Frazer – we’ll have you bombing down the moguls on a pair of skis by the end of March – and the rest of you Dudes – just you see

I know it could get very confusing. I'll have to meet the other Dunk and figure out how to address them both. My Dunc has another mate called Dunc and we just call them big Dunc and little Dunc (nothing rude about that before anyone says! Just ones built like a brick**** house and my Dunc isn't!)
Bringing CD's because I heard there are CD players in the condo's and my MP3 player hasn't got a very large memory, only use it to cycle to work and back. Need to get with the times, but money is a bit tight these days!
Anyways anyone fancy a chat I'll happily post my email address. I can talk for England as you are all going to find out soon enough and poor Phil has witnessed! |

Morning all...
Good to hear you all chatting before hitting Big White. Nice to hear the weather from Geoff "Ulrika Jonsson" Wright - our man in Vancouver. No surprise about the rain at Whistler - by the time the snow hits BW, it will have gone through the interior BC 'intense drying out process' to ensure that only the finest cuts of the lightest, driest, fluffiest stuff are allowed in the air space above Big White. The snow in BW is awesome - and I don't even need to give you guys the hard sell anymore! You will all love BW so much by the end of the season. Unfortunately there are no trendy nightspots a la Reflex in Big White....ok, I take my hat off and admit that choosing Reflex was not my finest hour but blagging 35 people into a busy club on a Saturday night out in Birmingham's busiest district was no mean feat. For those that missed out, don't worry...you didn't! Snowshoe Sam's is the place in BW that you will probably deviate towards for a spot of aprés-ski and the people in there tend to be a lot more upstanding than your average Reflex-er. All the best for now, Phil. P.S. Y'all know that the chalets have wireless internet access for free, right? |
