first of all i want to apologise to geoff about the nickname...i seem to have created a monster! thing is, i do not think we can turn the tide back now and the name is bound to stick. so ulrika it is from now on?!?!?

cell phone coverage is perfect for both uk and canadian mobiles at bw. no worries there whatsoever. i am on vodafone and recommend getting the "vodafone passport" option which makes overseas calls cheaper. phone up your supplier and explain what you are doing and how it can be made cheaper. bear in mind that it costs something like £1 per minute to receive a call on your uk mobile. use your uk mobile at your peril. text messages are about 40p. best thing is to buy a calling card to speak to mums/ dads/ girlfriends/ boyfriends etc. - this can be done from the comfort off your own hot tub with a beer in the other hand!

A different coverage question for ye then.

How good is the Wifi coverage of the chalets? My phone can pick them up but not too well if its too far from the access point. I have skype on it so can make super cheap calls if allowed. Smile

A question for Geoff/Ulrika..... Can you fess up and tell me how old you are? And, in between your skiing, what are you up to with your fitness programme?

Look forward to hearing back Very Happy Very Happy

Plug sockets - not sure their technical name but at the airport, you just buy one that is useable in Canada. It shouldn't be a problem. The wifi connection is perfect - never had any problems. Canada is a first world country you know!!!!

Skype works fine - I was using it all the time last season.

I have a tip on the use of electrical equipment.

If you are like me you will be taking quite a few items that you need to pluged in to use or for recharging. In Canada they use a 110 volt system where in UK and OZ we use 240 volt. Want you need to do is check that your device for it's input voltage. this can be found on the transformer (the little black box that is part of the power cable) or on the bottom of your device. If it reads input 110-240v you're in business. If it reads 200-240v you would need a voltage inverter and that is expensive -try updating your device to one with a input voltage of 110-240v. Now so that you can use many devices at once I take one or two plug converters (UK to CA for most, OZ to CA for myself) then I also take a power board (those things where you plug the lead into the wall and then you have 4,6 or 8 outlets) this way you plug your power board in using your plug adaptor and then you can just plug all your domestic plug devises into your board.

The WARNING is CHECK YOU INPUT VOLTAGE

I hope this helps
