Hey,

Just found this site and been reading through etc. Im really interested in doing a course but im wondering what kind of experiance you need before hand really? I know more would be better but just wondering what level most people are at when they go out?

I have been out a few times and have another trip planned early Feb 08 (which means no chance for getting on a course in 0Cool. I can comfortably get down linking turns etc on the simpler slopes, steeper slopes are not always so successful Laughing but im thinking thats more of a confidence thing than anything.

Im just stuck in a rut with boring work and thinkin of doing something crazy and trying to learn how to be a snowboard instructor!? ANd soing some traveling around.

Though iv not quite worked out how ill pay for all this i dont care haha

Hey curtis, your best bet is to email one of the gang at snowskool HQ.
Im pretty sure if your confident with your turns and feel confortable on most slopes and ofcourse you love the snow then it should be cool. - But yeh give them a holla! (email should be on the main page)

If you get saving asap then we could be meeting in the airport in a few months for when i hit Big White Very Happy! hope I helped

Add me on msn if you want leonrecovery@hotmail.co.uk

I wouldnt worry about how much you have, I did the course last year and there were people who had done it before and people who hadnt' really done anything before and started from scratch. Everyone passed and became either a ski instructor or a snowboard instructor Even if your experienced you'll spend most of the time being told how you do it is wrong anyway!

So yeah you can go out having never done it before or already awesome, it doesnt matter. I'll be working as a snowboard instructor in Banff this coming season

'Sup Curtis? Guys, thanks for replying to Curtis. How are you doing Poker Joe? Leon, thanks for telling me about the SnowSkool site this morning although I did already know. What was that all about? Why would someone want to hack into the SnowSkool site? Not exactly the FBI are we?

Anyway, Curtis - as Joe put it, we have a huge range of abilities on the course and, because we split groups according to ability, you can be sure that you will be riding with someone of a standard similar to yours. Average amount of experience is about four or five weeks, although in the past it has ranged from 0 weeks on snow to 3 seasons (including a girl who had skied for GB)!

Let Laura (laura@sportskool.co.uk) know your address if you would like a brochure. We still have a few spaces remaining for season-long instructor training courses this season coming and are already taking bookings for the instructor training programmes in New Zealand in 2008 and Canada 2008/09...booking now and paying your deposit guarantees the price and should make it cheaper for you!

All the best for now,
Phil
