BAGGAGE
If you are on the SnowSkool group flight, the standard baggage allowance applies which is one piece of checked luggage that must not exceed 23kg, this must be a suitcase or large bag.
Ski & Snowboard bags are classified as “items of sporting equipment” and considered an addition to the standard baggage allowance. Air NZ will charge you an additional £35 for this bag. Further items of luggage will be charged at £120 for the second piece and £150 for the third.
Please note that taking a separate ski bag and boot bag will be considered as two additional pieces of baggage. SnowSkool recommend that students use the larger style snowboard bags which enable you to transport both skis and boots in the same bag.
The weight of each bag:
Must not exceed 23kg (51lbs) for the standard and additional allowance to apply
If your baggage exceeds 23kg you will be charged as having additional luggage, this is charged at £120 for the second piece and £150 for the third.
MONEY/ BANKING
We STRONGLY recommend that every student takes a credit card with them. In the past students have gone out to resort with cards that either don’t work abroad or have been stopped for one reason or another and have been stuck not being able to buy equipment or fund their first week in resort.
If using a debit card, please check with your bank that it will work in your destination country and inform them that you are going to be there so that your card is not stopped for perceived possible fraudulent activity.
Make a note of the numbers on your credit/debit cards and the phone numbers to report a loss. It is also a good idea to inform someone you trust at home of these numbers.
We also recommend that students take a small amount of cash. This can be useful for paying for drinks, food or any items they might want to buy over the first few days which can be very busy.
