APRES-SKI IN BIG SKY
Nightlife in Montana is no longer what you imagine it to be like. No longer must you put on your leather chaps and ten-gallon hat, swing open the doors of the saloon and have the barman sling a glass of cheap bourbon down the length of the bar! But in spite of adopting the French affection of “après-ski”, the spirit of the Wild West remains in Big Sky!
Regardless of whether or not you’re wearing a pair of chaps/ cowboy hat, SnowSkool students will receive a warm welcome at choice spots including Scissorbills Saloon, which is open until “at least midnight” seven days per week and which swings to the sounds of regular live music and live DJ nights. For those looking for a nice drop of beer, the Lone Peak Microbrewery, serves unpasteurised beers with no chemicals, additives or preservatives. On tap, choose from Headplant Pale Ale, Buck Snort Porter or the ever-popular Hippy Highway Oatmeal Stout! Whiskey Jacks is our number one venue for après après-ski – banging music, microbrewed beer on tap and plates of nachos the size of the mountains you spend the day’s riding!
It is worth point out that the drinking age in Montana is 21 and, consequently, the SnowSkool Big Sky programme has a minimum age of 21 years old.
If you don’t fancy painting the town red, there are plenty alternatives for those on the SnowSkool Big Sky course. Still want to go out – check out the climbing wall or a twilight sleigh ride! The apartments are ideal for a nice relaxing evening with a large living area and full entertainment set-up (cable TV, DVD, stereo, WiFi etc). You can also head down to the Huntley Lodge for a work-out, a jacuzzi, a swim in the pool or to indulge in some of the spa facilities.
Whatever you do in Big Sky, the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and super informal. If you wanna wear a cowboy hat, that’s fine by us!
