Become a snowboard instructor in Banff
In the list of Dream Jobs, becoming a snowboard instructor is undoubtedly up there. And, in the list of Dream Locations, Banff in Canada can rightfully stake a claim for that number one spot. Surely this is why the 13-week SnowSkool Banff programme is our most popular instructor course?
The snowboard training is tried and tested – since 2004, SnowSkool’s highly-qualified and experienced snowboard instructors have delivered more tuition than any other course: five hours per day, five days per week. In seven years, the pass rate for the CASI Level 1 exam remains steadfastly at 100%. The riding in Banff is unreal – three huge and world-famous ski hills surrounded by some of the sickest backcountry terrain on earth. When the chairs stop lifting, the lights are cranked up and the town comes alive playing host to Canada’s best après-ski scene. SnowSkool instructors and reps are there to make sure you maximise your time on- and off-snow.

Who chooses this course?

SnowSkool Banff is popular for the young, free and single. The course attracts a lot of school-leavers and University graduates who are looking for a great community-feel: we’re a big group that rides, socialises and eats together in a Lodge.
For those looking to become a snowboard instructor in Banff, we recommend that you have a minimum of three weeks on-snow experience. This may not seem like a lot but because the course is 13 weeks in length, you will get a lot of on-snow time to build up your riding skills. And because we have a large programme in Banff, we can split snowboarders into experience-related groups. In an average year, the most experienced snowboarder will have three seasons’ on-snow experience whereas the least experience will have three weeks’ on-snow experience.
Banff's for you - right? If not, check out one of our other snowboard instructor courses.

Nick Coates, 22, SnowSkool Banff, 2008

“I had always wanted to become a snowboard instructor and the SnowSkool Banff course was the obvious choice for me as I knew there was some sick riding and a kicking nightlife in and around Banff - and these were the two main points on my checklist! My season with SnowSkool was unbelievable – fun& laughter, new friends, a spot of romance and so much snow! After a four-year degree at Leeds University (the last year of which I was President of Leeds Snowriders),I was recruited to work as a rep for SnowSkool in Banff and we’re in discussions to make it longer-term!!!"
